BSL Level 3 is aimed at those who already have an advanced knowledge of BSL at Level 2. This is the ideal qualification for anyone who wants to use BSL more confidently in everyday situations and potentially explore new career opportunities.
The course is divided into three units:
- Sign Language Linguistics
- Receptive Skills
- Productive Skills
On completion of the course…
Learners will understand how to maintain sustained communication in BSL in both formal and informal registers – with an emphasis on correct grammatical structure. They will be able to use a broad range of vocabulary, and distinguish opinions and feelings from facts. They will also be able to use advanced verb forms, timeframes, and aspects, all while focusing on accurate grammar.
Our deaf tutors teach to the highest standard
Students will be taught within a small group, using a variety of methods, by a very experienced deaf tutor. The quality of the teaching is reflected in our above the national average results.
All our students are encouraged to immerse themselves into the deaf community as much as possible – to gain knowledge and research which will help them to achieve the best during their Level 3 course.
Book the Level 3 Certificate in BSL
Level 3 is a 36-week accredited course with a 3-hour lesson once a week. It’s equivalent to A-level and includes 100 hours of independent study time.
Teaching dates largely follow the Nottingham/shire school schedule. You can find more information on our course booking page, where you can also apply for a place on the course. Our training team will then contact you to confirm your place and send you the details.
